All Christians are called to be leaven and light wherever they may be. The Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi members establish works of apostolate above all in eleven basic areas: 1. EVANGELIZATION The Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi members take special notice of the need to evangelize all peoples, especially through the creation of works that make the treasure of the Catholic faith available and easily accessible to everyone. They seek to offer a serious and enthusiastic response to Pope John Paul''s challenge for a New Evangelization.
EDUCATION The specific mission of the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi Movement in the educational apostolate is summarized in the motto Integer homo; that is, providing its students with an integral formation. Our educational program consists of three essential elements: Teach: To teach means to provide the student with the intellectual capabilities, content, and skills needed to respond to the demands of today''s society. Educate: To educate means to train the student in the habit of intellectual rigor, structured reasoning, and in the appreciation of beauty; it means to cultivate sensitivity, memory, imagination; and finally, to develop art of communication and the ability to express oneself clearly and elegantly. Form: To form is to lead the student to become a person for others, with an upright ethical code, sensitivity toward the needs of others - especially the most disadvantaged - and an openness to human and spiritual values. In this way students are prepared not just for professional success but also for their self-realization as persons and authentic Christians in the various facets of their personal and professional lives.
It offers a diverse range of services, such as: catechesis, home construction and remodeling, recreational and athletic activities, events for human and intellectual formation, ecological support, censuses, drives to raise food, money and medicine, and urban development. Missions of evangelization are also conducted in the most spiritually needy neighborhoods. Sacraments are administered at this time, especially baptism and the blessing of marriages. Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum Regina Apostolorum Institute of Religious Sciences With the collaboration of the Legionaries of Christ, the Holy See established this new Athenaeum for the study of Philosophy and Theology at Rome in 1993. 675 students were enrolled during the 1998-1999 academic year. In April 1999 the Congregation for Catholic Education approved the Institute for Religious Sciences under the auspices of the Athenaeum''s faculty of theology. The Institute offers a degree in Religious Sciences that can be obtained through distance learning.
